DNA test against the Maternal lineage:
Researchers have found that Ashkenazi Jewish people shared the same genetic markers coming from their maternal lineage. Those groups are called mtDNA haplogroups. There are 4 groups for the Ashkenazi Jewish. There are:
- N1b
- K1a1b1a
- K1a9
- K2a2a
By taking a genetic test, you can know if your mtDNA haplogroup matches with one of the 4 mtDNA haplogroups.
The lab familytreedna delivers DNA test kits by mail for you to check to your maternal lineage. It is a kind of tooth brush that you use to brush inside your cheek. Then, you send it back to the lab inside a test tube.
You have to order a mtDNA test at familytreeDNA to check your maternal lineage.
